Vietnamese black pepper is grown in the Central Highlands, which possesses an advantage in climatic and soil conditions, providing a distinctive, pungent taste of black pepper.

Currently, Vietnam is the largest producer and exporter of black pepper, contributing one third of global output and over 50 percent of transactions (about 150,000 tonnes a year).
